X Marks the Spot: What Lies Under the ‘X’ in LXP?

X Marks the Spot: What Lies Under the ‘X’ in LXP? | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
There is a degree of uncertainty about what we should call the learning experience platform, with the grounds of contention seeming to be chiefly around the word ‘experience’, the ‘x’ in LXP. Why is this word so contentious? And does the lack of agreement signal a deeper unease about the concept of ‘a learning experience’?

7 UX Design Principles That Improve Learner Experience (LX)

7 UX Design Principles That Improve Learner Experience (LX) | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Recently, I stepped onto an elevator with my wife. On the control panel was a vertical series of raised squares with numbers on them, and like any rational person, I assumed that they were the buttons for choosing the desired floor. After pressing them several times though, I realized that the lighted squares to the right were actually the buttons.

Tech Humanist Approach Seeks Meaningful Learner Experiences

Tech Humanist Approach Seeks Meaningful Learner Experiences | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
The prospect of a technology-driven future might inspire excitement, dread—or both. Innovations in technology shape nearly every aspect of human society and interaction, including the ways we learn and work. Tech Humanist author and founder of KO Insights Kate O’Neill is adamant in her description of the best possible future: “We must make intentional choices that align the best of technology’s promise, and the business objectives that provide fuel to it, with the best and broadest of human objectives.”

The Promises and Perils of Learning Experience Design

The Promises and Perils of Learning Experience Design | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Of late, there’s been considerable discussion of the term learning experience design, both positive and negative. As with all such buzz phrases, it’s worthwhile examining what the promises and perils are. Ultimately, it’s about whether there’s value to be found in the concept.
