US-CERT Warns About Anonymous DDOS Attacks...
A number of five documents are recommended, containing information on how to avoid email scams, social engineering and phishing attacks, and how to deal with DOS attacks and threats posed by DNS recursion.
A document dedicated to recovering after malware attacks is also recommended by members of US-CERT.
By understanding all these concepts, website administrators and users have a better chance of defending their assets against malware attacks and ones attempting to use social engineering to steal private information.

(AP)—High-level talks with the Chinese government to address persistent cyberattacks against U.S. companies and government agencies haven't worked, so officials say the Obama administration is now considering a range of actions.
"We have to begin making it clear to the Chinese," Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday, "that the United States is going to have to take action to protect not only our government's, but our private sector, from this kind of illegal intrusions."

FBI director says Al Qaeda is getting more sophisticated and warns of domestic hackers.
When addressing the cyber threat looming over America’s security establishment, Mueller mentioned the growing technical expertise of groups like Al Qaeda and Somalia’s Harakat Al Shabaab as part of an online threat against the United States. Other parts of that threat include acts of digital espionage by foreign powers as well as “organized criminal syndicates.”
“…we confront hacktivists, organized criminal syndicates, hostile foreign nations that seek our state secrets and our trade secrets, and mercenaries willing to hack for the right price,” he said.
