The Luxembourg government has confirmed that it has commissioned a study to examine, among other things, the acquisition of sophisticated speed-camera technology for use in the country's motorway tunnels.

Sustainability minister Claude Wiseler confirmed in parliament that 12 automated speed cameras would soon be installed permanently throughout Luxembourg.

RTL radio reported that the exact locations of the cameras are yet to be announced. However, once they have been installed, motorists will be warned by road sign of their whereabouts.
