Hormone Imbalances

Dr. Alex Jimenez, D.C., presents: Today, we will be looking at how to look for the signs of hormonal imbalances in men and how chiropractic care can help with the symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances. We need to understand the subtypes of hormonal deficiency to enable appropriate treatment strategies like chiropractic care. So when it comes to hormones in the body, it is important to know how hormones function in the body and what happens when comorbidities are associated with hormonal imbalances. The hormonal imbalances in the male body could cause physiologic effects of low testosterone correlating with disruptive factors.

Now hormones in both male and female bodies provide various actions that make the body functional. This includes:

  • Regulating body temperature
  • Sexual function
  • Work with other hormones (insulin, DHEA, cortisol)
  • Support the major body systems

When it comes to the male body, the two main hormones, androgen and testosterone, can help with cognitive function. However, when the body begins to age naturally, the hormonal process begins to decrease in the male body and causes chronic illnesses to start to cause problems in the body. When this happens, it can cause the individual to be in pain and disrupt daily activities.

Environmental Disruptors & Low Testosterone Levels

Dr. Alex Jimenez, D.C., presents: Since many environmental disruptors can affect the body and cause hormonal imbalances, they can cause various symptoms in many test results when patients are being examined by their primary doctors. Signs of chronic fatigue, brain fog, depression, increased muscle mass, and low libido correlates with testosterone deficiency and can make the body dysfunctional. And if there is chronic hormonal dysfunction in the body, it can also lead to inflammation associated with hormonal deficiency. When inflammation starts to affect the muscles and joints of the male body, it can lead to issues affecting the back, hips, legs, shoulders, and neck that can cause limited mobility, muscle fatigue, increased body fat, and a decrease in bone mineral density.

Three Ways To Balance Hormones Naturally El Paso, Texas | Call: 915-850-0900 or 915-412-6677 | Chiropractic + Wellness | Scoop.it

People from all over have hormonal imbalances and don’t even realize it. Even with medical tests for abnormal thyroid function, it doesn’t always pick up on a thyroid that isn’t functioning as it should.

The same goes for the adrenals. When they get overtaxed, the hormonal imbalance that follows can be very difficult. Fortunately, there are some excellent natural remedies for hormonal imbalance.

How do you know if your hormones are not balanced?

Glands that are under-producing will have some symptoms that are different from glands that are over-producing. However, some symptoms are shared across the board. If you notice that you experience several of these symptoms, it could point to a hormonal imbalance:

  • Weight loss or gain (without trying or doing anything different)
  • Swelling
  • Confusion, difficulty finding the “right” word, lack of mental clarity
  • Fatigue
  • Memory loss
  • Muscle weakness
  • Sexual dysfunction, lack of desire
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Aches and pains in the muscles
  • Migraines

Your chiropractor, naturopath, or specialist can help you determine if you have a hormonal imbalance. Many medical doctors tend to prescribe medications, but in most cases, the problem can be corrected through natural means.

These three treatments are very beneficial in treating hormonal imbalances in the body. They can be done separately or combined for added beneficial results.

Herbs and Essential Oils can help with hormone imbalance

There are several herbs and essential oils that are exceptional when it comes to balancing hormones. Ashwagandha tops the list for treating overactive or sluggish thyroid as well as overtaxed adrenals.

You can take it as a tablet or capsule, in powder form, or as a liquid. Mixing ¼ to ½ teaspoons of powder into some milk with honey and taking just before bedtime can help you sleep as well as calm your stress and balance your hormones.

Several essential oils like clary sage, lavender, and sandalwood help reduce stress and promote a sense of wellbeing. Hormonal balance is a natural result. To use essential oils, put 3 to 5 drops in a diffuser and breathe it in.

Nutrition helps to balance hormones

Hormonal imbalance is often the result of stress, whether it is emotional stress from difficulties in life or physical stress from poor health habits like not getting enough sleep and not maintaining a healthy diet. Omega 3 and six fatty acids are vital for everything from heart health to vibrant skin to hormonal balance.

Additional nutrients you should be getting include vitamin D, B complex, and magnesium. If you aren’t getting enough in the foods that you eat, then consider supplements. Yes, it’s that important.

You can also give your body a great boost by taking probiotics and enjoying the marvelous healing properties of bone broth. Bone broth is available in powder or liquid – or you can make it yourself. It packs a serious nutritional punch so incorporating it into your diet is a very smart move.

Chiropractic balances hormones naturally

Chiropractic care is a powerful treatment for hormonal imbalance. It goes right to the heart of many of the factors that cause the body to get out of balance and treats the problem at its root.

It helps to relieve stress in the body and reduce or eliminate pain, both of which can contribute to hormonal imbalances. It is one of the best natural treatments for hormonal imbalance because it brings the body itself back into balance.

What’s more, the whole-body approach that chiropractic offers means that you get recommendations on healthy eating, exercise, and positive lifestyle changes. All of these things work together to balance your body and balance your hormones for a healthier, happier you.

Injury Related Stress And Anxiety Addressed With Chiropractic Care | Call: 915-850-0900 or 915-412-6677 | Chiropractic + Wellness | Scoop.it

Going through traumatic accidents that result in injuries can cause injury-related stress and anxiety for individuals. It is understandable that stress and anxiety are high as individuals figure out how to navigate through the situation. Therefore, it is very important to find ways to manage stress and anxiety because if they go unchecked it could become chronic leading to poor health and quality of life.

Stress/Anxiety Affects Health

Injury-related stress and anxiety can be exacerbated through different factors. These can include:

  • Medical bills
  • Employment
  • Relationships
  • Independence

The causes/reasons can vary however, the physical response the body goes through is the same. A stress-inducing situation can leave an individual feeling threatened and generate a physical stress response. The body responds to stress by releasing hormones that shift the body into survival mode. This requires a lot of energy placing massive strain on the body. This is an important mechanism for healthy living. However, if it begins to present on a regular basis it can lead to negative health issues that include:

  • Depression
  • Chronic anxiety
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Personality disorder

The body needs time every day to recover and rejuvenate. This is not possible when the body is constantly entering a heightened state of stress. Traditional treatment can lead to the over-prescription of medications that come with their own side effects. Effective injury-related stress treatment addresses issues like:

Health problems

Injury-related stress and anxiety affect mental health and can lead to physical symptoms and disease. These include:

  • Chronic pain
  • Sleep problems
  • Gastrointestinal issues
  • Obesity
  • Asthma and breathing problems
  • Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory loss

Chiropractic Treatment and Care

A healthy brain and spinal cord are vital to the body's optimal health. When nerve energy and blood flow get blocked it can worsen injury-related stress and anxiety. Chiropractic delivers results helping to better manage mental health by addressing underlying issues with spinal misalignment. When the spine is properly aligned neural health is optimized for everyday functions. This increases vitality and an overall sense of well-being. With brain function improved adjusting to the injury and its effects no longer cause intense stress. Individuals cannot remove all the stressors and anxiety-inducing events from their lives, but proper spinal alignment can help build resilience for whatever situations life throws.

Body Composition

Recovery and Swelling

Recovery is an essential part of maintaining optimal body health. This goes for regular work, working out, athlete’s training, and just participating in physical activity. A significant sign that the body has gone through intense physical exertion and needs recovery time is swellingSwelling presents for different reasons. It is the body’s response to tiny, microscopic tears in the muscle that happens from constant and intense use. Running or lifting heavy objects are two examples that cause swelling. Swelling can be seen in body composition analysis results. An increase in Lean Body Mass reflects an increase in water. Recovery is about giving the body a chance to:

  • Relax
  • Recuperate
  • Recover from the swelling with the end goal of resuming physical activities
